Skylights
Skylight installation and repair that keeps the light in and the water out
New skylights set watertight, and leaking units repaired so the light comes in and the rain stays out.
Chapter 01
Skylight installation
A well-placed skylight changes how a room feels. People add one for a dark hallway or an interior room with no window, to cut the hours the lights stay on, to lift curb appeal and value, to air out a stuffy space, or to light an architectural feature that never got enough.
BXC handles the whole job from assessment to final inspection: choosing the size and the placement with you, cutting in the opening, and setting proper flashing and waterproofing around it. A skylight is a hole in the roof, so the roofing work around it matters more than the unit itself.
The estimate is free and the same day, and the installation falls under the warranty BXC puts on all of its services.

Skylight repair
Skylights face the weather head-on and they age. The signs are water stains on the ceiling or walls below, cracks in the glass or frame, drafts around the unit, condensation between panes, an operable unit that is hard to open or close, and worn weather stripping.
BXC repairs the whole range, from replacing a worn seal to restoring the whole unit: water leaks and moisture damage, cracked or foggy glass, damaged flashing and seals, condensation and frame deterioration. The crew diagnoses where the water is actually getting in before anything is replaced.
Left alone, a leaking skylight leads to rot, mold and damage inside the house, so a stain on the ceiling is worth a call.
Chapter 03
Flashing and the frame: where skylights leak
Most skylight trouble starts where the unit meets the roof, not in the glass. Improper or worn flashing, tired seals and a frame that has moved all let water through the joint, and the stain turns up on a ceiling well away from the leak.
That is why BXC looks at the flashing and the roofing around the opening on every skylight visit, new or old. If the leak turns out to be a roof problem rather than a unit problem, the same crew can repair it, since roof repair and leak detection are already part of the work.
Insurance sometimes comes into it after a storm. BXC offers insurance claim guidance, with a Claims Resolution Specialist on staff, so you are not working through the paperwork alone.
BXC Roofing is locally owned in Tyler and has been roofing East Texas since 2019. Skylight estimates are free and same-day. Call (903) 218-2322.

Field ledger · around the opening
What gets checked around a skylight
- Seals and weather stripping around the opening
- Flashing where the frame meets the shingles
- Glass for cracks and for fog between the panes
- The frame itself, for deterioration
- Ceiling and walls below, for water stains
- Operable units, for how they open and close
Any one of these can be the real source of a ceiling stain. The visit finds which one it is.
